Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Senator Sirajul Haq participated in the sit-in of Hazara community in Quetta on Friday and expressed regret over the attitude of the federal government for not listening to the demands of the families of Machh victims. Talking to the participants, he said the prime minister proved himself stubborn and a ruler who felt no pain for the sufferings of the masses.
He reminded the prime minister that he (Imran Khan) had participated in the sit-in of the community as PTI chairman and then he had declared the then government as the killer, holding it responsible for the terror incident. Senator Siraj said the Hazara community had long been a victim of terrorism but the successive governments failed to provide protection to the people. Virtually, he said, the PTI government failed to protect the lives of the masses and develop a strategy to check the rising incidents of terrorism.
He demanded the government listen to the concerns of participants of the Quetta sit-in on urgent basis and the prime minister must visit the families of the victims. He said the government should develop an effective policy of to counter terrorism. Earlier on Thursday, the JI chief left for Quetta from Lahore by road along with other senior leadership of the party to participate in the sit-in of the community and express condolence with the families of the victims. He said the incident was heart-wrenching and exposed the security situation.
The Majlis Wahdatul Muslmeen, Shia Ulema Council, ISO and others held protest demonstration in front of Press Clubs including Badin, Tando Bago, Matli and others towns and cities Press Club against Machh massacre which left 11 labourers were martyred. The protestors chanted slogans against inhuman act and incompetency of the government. The protestors also paid sit-in near Bago canal bridge for several hours.
The protest was addressed by Syed Nadir Ali Shah, Molvi Gul Muhammad Hyderi, Qambar Ali Shah, Juman Shah, Dilbar Sindhi, Molana Abid Hussain Najfi and others. While addressing representatives said some elements intended to spread sectarian riots in the country and they were exercising such brutal act. They said despite of dozens of protests across the country Federal Government was paying no heed to expose those elements involved in massacre. They said genocide of Hazara community was inhuman adding that it was regrettable that heirs of the martyrs were not justified. The sit-in protest was also participated by representitive of JUI F, Molvi Abdul Wahid Farooqi to make solidarity with protestors.
