‘Ittehad-bainul-Muslimeen Peace Conference’ was held at Press Club Lahore under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad (Khateeb and Imam Badshahi Masjid Lahore and Chairman Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan) on the occasion of Ashura Muharram.
Danish Afzaal, Commissioner Lahore, Shaykh-ul-Hadeeth Maulana Mufti Mubashir Ahmad Nizami, Maulana Sardar Muhammad Khan Leghari, Pir Muhammad Masood Qasim Qasmi, Maulana Qari Zahoor Ahmad, Maulana Abdul Wahab Rupari, Allama Kazim Raza Naqvi and Maulana Asadullah Farooq, Maulana Shakeel-ur-Rehman Nasir, Maulana Naeem Badshah, Maulana Muhammad Bilal Naqshbandi, Mufti Syed Ashiq Hussain Shah, Sahibzada Pir Usman Noori, Maulana Mufti Saifullah Khalid, Maulana Asif Akbar, Maulana Muhammad Ayub Khan Saqib, Ehsanullah Tabassum, Mian Ajmal Abbas, Syed Nobahar Shah, Allama Abdul Latif Najafi, Pir Muhammad Shah Hussain, Sahibzada Syed Abdul Basir Azad, Sahibzada Syed Abdul Kabir Azad, Hafiz Syed Abdul Razzaq Azad, Hafiz Syed Abdul Razziq Azad, Bilal Ahmad Mir, Khawaja Javed Aslam Sahaf, Aziz Ahmed Malik and others are participants.
We have made successful visits to all the Divisional Headquarters of Punjab under the auspices of the Punjab Endowment Department and the Ittehad-bainul-Muslimeen Committee, with eminent scholars of all sects, including prominent Shia Ahl-e-Hadith and Ahl-e-Sunnat scholars. Held meetings with eminent scholars of schools of thought in all the districts in which Commissioners, RPOs, Deputy Commissioners, DPOs, other administrative officers and members of the Peace Committee fully participated. In the meetings, eminent scholars of all schools of thought assured the Punjab government of their full support in maintaining law and order in Ashura Muharram.
The ‘Message of Pakistan’ which is a great national narrative is loved not only in Pakistan but all over the world, which has made significant progress in eradicating terrorism, extremism and sectarianism. He said enemies want to create chaos and unrest in Pakistan, we have to thwart the nefarious intentions of the enemy. In the current situation Pakistan cannot tolerate any unrest and chaos. It is the responsibility of the Ulema to play their role in maintaining peace.
All our security agencies have thwarted many conspiracies of the enemy and will continue to thwart them. The Pakistan Army has made historic sacrifices for the security and defense of the country. The religious community is with the government, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, all the security agencies of the country and the police and administration.
