Dr Yasmin informs Punjab will hire new vaccinators for 89 days

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Wednesday declared that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar want to provide top quality healthcare services to people and all-out measures are being taken for full-fledged launch of the universal health coverage (UHC).

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid was speaking via video link with the federal team regarding the launching of the Universal Health Coverage Program at Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Faisal Sultan and other officials. The participants reviewed arrangements regarding media coverage of the event.

The Health Minister said, “Prime Minister Imran Khan is providing universal health coverage to 29.3 million families of Punjab and this is the fulfilment of a promise made by the Prime Minister.”
Dr Yasmin said that Nadra and other institutions have been asked to verify and consolidate the data of all families.

Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said all preparations for launching the program are underway as per directives of the Prime Minister.

Provision of basic health services is the responsibility of the state. Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Faisal Sultan said all institutions must start preparations for the launching of the Program. The program shall ensure much better healthcare services for common man.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Health Department will start hiring of vaccinators for 89 days to boost vaccination in the province as the provincial Cabinet Committees on Corona and Dengue met here on Wednesday under the chair of Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid at the Chief Minister Secretariat.

Provincial Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal especially joined the meeting. Present in the meeting were Chief Secretary Punjab, IG Punjab, Commissioner Lahore Division, Secretaries of Health Departments, Secretary Local Government, Secretary P&D, Secretary Housing, DG Health Services, DC Lahore and other officials.

The Secretaries of Health Departments gave briefing to the Minister. The Cabinet Committee granted approval for hiring of vaccinators for 89 days and directed strict action on fake entries of Corona vaccination.

The Health Minister appreciated the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department for increasing the pace of vaccination in the province. The Chief Secretary asked all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to control Dengue and Corona.

The Health Minister said, “We are witnessing an increase in the daily vaccination coverage for Corona. Controlling Dengue is everyone’s responsibility.

Dengue cases are increasing in Punjab. We have reserved 5000 beds for dengue patients in private hospitals of Lahore. We are following a proper strategy to control dengue and corona. Currently Lahore is reporting more dengue cases. There must be special lectures tpo educate students on dengue and corona. Fumigation is being started in all educational institutions of Punjab.

The anti dengue activities must be monitored by teams at district and tehsil Level. All Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners will have to monitor dengue activities themselves.”
