With special efforts of Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Imran Sikandar Baloch , the province-wide vaccination campaign is successfully moving towards its goals.
In this regard a new record of vaccination has been set across Punjab and a record number of vaccinations are being carried out on a daily basis.
There are currently a total of 662 vaccination centres operational across the province wherein vaccination is underway at a brisk pace.
According to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare secretary, the total coverage of Covid-19 vaccination stands at 37,727,542 with 532,784 in last 24 hours whereas in Lahore 52,943 people inculcated during the past 24 hours, taking the total vaccination coverage to 5,237,645 in the provincial metropolis.
During the last 24 hours, 1,345 new cases were reported from across the province, taking the total number of cases to 411,809. Besides, 372,934 patients have fully recovered in the whole province.
During the past 24 hours, 6 deaths are recorded in Lahore whereas 27 deaths have been reported in Punjab, while the total number of deaths has reached 12,196. During the last 24 hours, 21,474 tests were conducted, taking the total number of test conducted so far to 7,051,529 in Punjab.
During last 24 hours, 517 cases were reported in Lahore, 161 cases in Rawalpindi, 77 cases in Faisalabad, 70 cases in Dera Ghazi Khan, 59 case in Multan, 45 cases in Bahawalpur, 43 in Rahim Yar Khan, 39 in Gujranwala, 29 in Toba Tek Singh whereas 27 cases reported in Mianwali and Sargodha.
While 22 cases in Lodhran, Sahiwal and Sialkot, 21 in Okara, 17 in khanewal, 16 in Pakpattan, 15 in Kasor, 13 in Sheikhupura, 12 cases reported in Bhakkar, Chakwal, Gujarat and Muzzafargarh.
Similarly 11 cases in Vehari, 8 in Jhang, 6 in Layyah, 5 in Jehlum and Rajanpur, 4 in Bahawalnagar, 3 cases reported in Attock, Chiniot, Nankana Sahib and Narowal.
The overall positive rate of corona was recorded at 6.3 in all the cities across the province, while the provincial capital Lahore recorded a positive rate of 11%, Rawalpindi 10%, Faisalabad 12%, Multan 7% and in Gujranwala 4% was recorded.
The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary said that, “Rapid increase in corona case in Punjab is a matter of concern.”
He stressed that vaccination is the only and effective treatment against corona. He further said that It is pleasant that a large number of citizens are increasingly participating in the vaccination campaign.
“There is no shortage of vaccinations anywhere in the province and ample stock of vaccine at all centres are available.
