Haq Maujood Literary Forum organized an event to mark the first death anniversary of acclaimed poet, educationist, and researcher Zakir Hussain Khatti in his home town Jati here on Tuesday where speakers paid him homage for his unparalleled services for Sindhi literature.
Chief Guest at the event renowned writer Usman Thaheem said that Zakir Khatti was among the pioneers of literary events in the Larr region of Sindh.
He further said that the late researcher went in every nook and corner of Sindh to compile the histories of the archeological sites across the province. “He was a dedicated educationist who encouraged young writers to write short stories ‘; He said.
Taluka Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party Khalik-ur-Rahman Sommero said that; His poetry carried several messages but the most prominent message was of love and dedication for the homeland adding that he was an ideologist who launched weekly children magazine Roshan Tara- Bright Stars to persuade students to write.
