PM, CM striving to provide basic amenities to people Inaugurates massive sewerage project at UC 55 in NA-125

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid inaugurated mass sewerage system in NA-125 at UC 55 here on Tuesday.

The workers gave a red carpet welcome to the Heath Minister and shower rose petals on her. The Wasa officials apprised the Minister of the details of the project.

Mian Hamid Mahmood, Javed Akram Tony, Chairman Abdul Ghafoor Pappu, Shahzad Numberdar, Mian Nadeem, Rana Naseem and political workers with officials of LWMC and Wasa were also present on the occasion.

The Health Minister said, “This huge project in NA 125 is a small gift from the government. This will help provide clean water to hundreds of thousands of residents.

Water sewerage system was longstanding demand of the residents. Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar are making all out efforts to provide basic amenities to people.

As a worker of PM Imran Khan we are making contribution in healthcare. Imran Khan has been taking steps to facilitate people from day one. He has proven himself as a true leader by taking measures for the good of the public.

PTI government believes in spending public money on public alone. We are establishing seven state of the art mother and child hospitals. The government shall take every measure for welfare of citizens.

Only PTI government can take people out of financial crisis.”
Local residents thanked the Minister for initiating a large sewerage project. They said no past government ever initiated any move to resolve these issues.

Meanwhile, an MoU was signed between the Punjab Social Welfare Department and Punjab University for imparting training in the social welfare sector here on Tuesday.

Secretary Social Welfare Hassan Iqbal and VC Prof Dr Niaz Akhtar signed the MoU. Provincial Minister Social Minister Yawar Abbas Bukhari was the chief guest at the ceremony.

The MoU signed would provide an opportunity to the students of Punjab University Mass Communication Department for internship programmes in the field of social welfare.

The trainee students would also give feedback to enhance the capabilities of the social welfare department after the completion of the internship programme.

Provincial Minister Syed Yawar Abbas Bukahri while welcoming the MoU said this would bring progress in the field of social welfare sector as there was a need to abreast the youth according to the challenges of the future.

VC Prof. Dr. Niaz Akhtar lauded the initiative of the social welfare department and termed it a milestone in the field of education and said this would strengthen the research wing of the social welfare department.

Secretary Social Welfare Hassan Iqbal said Social Welfare Department would be extending help to the Punjab University on a bilateral basis and feedback from one of the prestigious and oldest educational institution would further help for bringing betterment in social welfare institutions.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PPDWP) approved 10 development schemes of Road Sector with an estimated cost of Rs7,825.14 million.

These schemes were approved in the 22nd meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2021-22 presided over by Chairman Planning & Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal.

The approved development schemes included Dualization of Lahore Jaranwala Faisalabad Jhang Bhakkar Road from Ayub Chowk to Ali Abad Bye Pass (from Km No. 213.40 to 218.50) Length 5.10 Km, Rehabilitation / Re construction of road from Phalia to Dinga, Length 25.25km, Phalia, District Mandi Bahauddin at the cost of Rs. 776.944 million, Rehabilitation / Construction of Carpeted Road from Malakwal to Sat Sira Chowk Mandi Bahauddin, Length = 30Km, District Mandi Bahauddin at the cost of Rs650 million, Construction of Flyover at Rajjar Railway Crossing Sarai Alamgir District Gujrat at the cost of Rs999.379 million, rehabilitation of Road from Narowal to Zafarwal “Excluding City Portion” Length 25km in District Narowal at a cost of Rs1,139.674 million, rehabilitation / improvement of road from Kalowal Mor Ahmad Nagar to Sial Mor (M-2 Link) Tehsil Lalian District Chiniot (Length = 15km) at a cost of Rs450.950 million, re-construction / Widening of (Carpet) road from Hafizabad to Sukheke Mandi, Length 29.24 Km (Section Km 0.00 to 7.40 & 23.70 to 29.24, Length 13.14 Km), Hafizabad at a cost of Rs704.775 million, Reconstruction / Widening of Road form Chowki Sukheke to Cheemi Mohallah Jalalpur Bhattian, Length 23.25 Km, District Hafizabad at the cost of Rs982.691 million, Rehabilitation / Improvement of different Roads in UCs 01 to 24, Length 93.25 Km, Tehsil Gojra, District TT Singh at the cost of Rs820 million and Rehabilitation of Road Layyah to Karor, Length 30km, District Hafizabad at a cost of Rs750 million.
