Director General Public Libraries Punjab/Secretary Board of Governors Mohammad Azhar Hayat started the plantation campaign by planting saplings in the premises of Quaid-e-Azam Library Bagh Jinnah Lahore.
On this occasion, Director Public Libraries Hafiz Muhammad Tawfiq, Chief Librarian Public Library Punjab Abdul Ghafoor, Chief Librarian Quaid-e-Azam Library Lahore, Senior Staff Shahid Parvez, Mrs. Zakia Murad Librarian also planted saplings while starting the plantation campaign.
Director General Public Libraries Punjab said on this occasion that making Pakistan look green is the most important need of the hour.

He said that in a country like Pakistan where the temperature is relatively high in summer, by planting plants and trees we can come close to reducing pollution, temperature and smog.
Director General Public Libraries Punjab has issued orders to the administration of Directorate of Public Libraries Punjab including Quaid-e-Azam Library and Punjab Public Library Lahore for the regular start of tree planting campaign.
