ISLAMABAD – Petrol, and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to drop from October 1, as another relief is on the cards to pass on relief amid a plunge in global oil rates.
Sources familiar with the development told Pakistan Observer about the expected relief, but the government is yet to decide on the exact numbers for the first half of October 2024.
The cut will further help the government to lower inflation, which is currently in single digits. As of late September, the petrol rate stands around Rs249.10 per litre while diesel price stands around Rs249.69.
Globally, the Brent crude oil rates saw cut of around $0.50 and price stands around $72.27, while US crude oil prices moved down by 37 cents.
These developments are said to provide much-needed relief to Pakistanis. Amid positive development, readers are urged to wait for official confirmation of any cut in petrol and diesel rates.
