PESHAWAR – Scattered rains and gusty winds are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night and Thursday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate upper/central parts of Pakistan at lower tropospheric level. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts.
Under these weather conditions, scattered rains and gusty winds are expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Kurrum, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday night.
On Thursday, mainly hot and very humid weather is expected in most districts of province. However, rains and gusty winds are likely in Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Malakand and Kurram.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Bannu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 77 per cent.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 81 per cent.
