PESHAWAR – More intermittent rains with snowfall over the hills are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological department (PMD), a frontal weather system prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist in upper parts of the country till January 06, 2025.
Under these weather conditions, more intermittent rains with snowfall over mountains are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Bajaur, Khyber, Shangla, Buner, Battagram, Manshera and Abbottabad on Thursday night and the next two days.
Light rains are also expected in Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat, Karak, Kurram and Waziristan during the period. Light to moderate fog will likely prevail in Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas during night/morning hours.
Landslides/avalanche are likely in the hilly areas. Wet conditions may disrupt traffic and as such tourists are advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travelling.
Peshawar’s minimum temperature will remain between 00-02°C on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, rainfall of varying intensities with snowfall over the hills occurred in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Parachinar remained the coldest place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the temperature dropped 04°C below the freezing point.
In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 02°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 60 percent.
