ISLAMABAD – An audio recording of an alleged conversation, purportedly between former Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi Shehbaz Sharif and a top court judge surfaced on social media, with the interior minister and PML-N leaders calling for his arrest.

In a presser, Sanaullah hinted at the arrest of the Q-League leader as the purported audio leak featuring a member of the apex court sparked new controversy.

Minister said he directed FIA and other concerned officials to start legal proceedings against Elahi, calling his alleged audio leaks ‘embarrassing’. He played the audio clip on social media in which the former CM can be heard exchanging views on the cases being heard which included Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, the famous blue-eyed cop of PTI.

Minister refused to delve into the details about the SC judge before forensic analysis of the audio. He however raised questions about Elahi’s links with members managing the apex court. He also called on CJP Bandial to take notice of this. He further lamented no action over the series of the audio leak.
