JOHANNESBURG – Two Pakistani sisters made history by winning gold medals in the Asia Pacific Africa Combined Powerlifting Championship 2024.
Sybil Sohail bagged the medal in the 52kg Open category of Deadlift in South Africa. She also won gold in the overall category. She has now won a total of four gold medals for Pakistan, including in Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, and Overall.
Veronika Sohail won the gold medal in the 57kg category of Deadlift. She has also secured gold medals in Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift categories.
Their third sister, Twinkle Sohail will be in action on Thursday.
The Lahore-based sisters hold training sessions on daily basis and winning the international medals have proved their dedication.
