RAWALPINDI – Pakistani security forces gunned down 25 Khawarij, including a key commander in ongoing intelligence-based operations (IBOs) day after worst violence in the country.

An update shared by ISPR said Abuzar aka Saddam had been killed by security forces in Tirah Valley, Khyber District. Army media wing said extensive operations target TTP also known as Fitna-Al-Khwarij, and other groups like Laskar-e-Islam and Jamat-ul-Ahrar.

These intelligence-based operations were conducted on solid intelligence reports and delivered a major blow to Fitna-Al-Khwarij and its accomplices. A prominent ring leader identified Abuzar aka Saddam.

ISPR also noted that four soldiers, who fought bravely, made ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom. The heavy losses inflicted on Fitna-Al-Khwarij underscore the dedication of security forces to eradicating terrorism from the country.

KP and Balochistan, the two regions neighboring Afghanistam, saw uptick in militant attacks. Pakistani authorities continue to push Afghan Taliban to address militants operating from border regions.
