Pakistan recorded 52 more Coronavirus deaths and 2,118 infections during the last 24 hours according to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
The death toll from the disease has surged to 10,461 (Sindh 3,634, Punjab 4,184, KP 1,695, ICT 432, Balochistan 186, GB 101 and AJK 229) while the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has jumped to 492,594 (AJK 8,396, Balochistan 18,280, GB 4,873, ICT 38,531, KP 59,955, Punjab 142,058 and Sindh 220,501).
At least 679 new coronavirus cases were reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 141,393 in the province. The death toll rose to 4,160 after 36 more patients succumbed to Covid-19, the health department said. As many as 126,225 patients have recovered so far, it added.
Sindh reported 1,233 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 221,734. According to Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, 19 more patients succumbed to the deadly virus. Another 26 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 24 hours in Balochistan, taking the tally to 18,280. According to health department, one more patient lost the battle against the deadly virus bringing the death toll to 186. Twelve more people died of Covid-19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to bring the death toll to 1,695. According to health officials, 226 people contracted coronavirus, taking the provincial tally to 59,955.
