Over one million saplings planted

More than one million saplings planted in Attock during monsoon this year and efforts will be made for the survival of these saplings.

Divisional Forest Officer Attock Syed Aamir Abbas said this while talking to this journalist in his office.

While giving details he said that forest department has planted 497600 plants, in defence area 96104 saplings, 112561 saplings by other departments and 750870 saplings have been planted in private sector.

He said that this time people from private sector played an important role in tree plantation campaign and said that the reason is that now people are having awareness about the importance of trees.

He said that Forest Department was also making efforts to ask people not to cut grown up trees with out any solid reason as a grown up tree needs years while growing.

While replying a question about mass level cutting of trees in private sector he said that there was no law to stop any one from cutting trees however he emphasised upon the people to avoid cutting of trees unnecessarily.
