Sindh government has announced a new education initiative aimed at providing out-of-school children with a fast-track opportunity to complete their education. Under the Non-Formal Education Program, over 20 million children in Sindh will have the chance to receive education within four years. The program, led by the Non-Formal Education Authority in collaboration with UNICEF and through public-private partnerships, is set to revolutionize the educational landscape in Sindh. Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah revealed the details during a meeting in Karachi, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education.
Additionally, the provincial government has directed the education department to organize science exhibitions in both public and private schools to promote scientific education.
To monitor private schools effectively, the government will appoint 35 inspectors across the province, ensuring compliance with educational standards. Private schools will also be required to offer 10% scholarships and include Sindhi language in their curriculum. Moreover, steps will be taken to train teachers in STEM subjects, encouraging students to excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The education minister emphasized the importance of these initiatives in enhancing educational opportunities for children across Sindh, signaling a significant step towards progress and development in Sindh.
