Only peaceful society can guarantee protection: IG

Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastgir said that Punjab Police and public are not separate from each other and Punjab Police have offered its services to public in every difficult time and protected lives and properties of people.
These views were expressed by him when he was addressing police officers, officials and media persons after donating blood in blood camp at Central Police Office. It is simply not possible that Punjab Police didn’t take part in helping the public in case of prevalence of any calamity, disease or difficult time in the province. He further said that blood donation camps have been established in police lines and other police offices in all districts of the province on World Cancer Day and hundreds of officers and officials from higher ups to the rank of constable have donated blood.
He said that such individual and collective based efforts will cause reduction in troubles of cancer affected patients. He moreover said, ‘Being a commander of the force I have directed to donate blood to the maximum end for cancer patients and if you find any affected patient then you should take possible and good care of him because our basic objective is to get the happiness of Allah and help the public’.
He added that besides ensuring protection of wealth and lives of people, Punjab Police were also cognizant of its social responsibilities and programmes shall be held in future for help and awareness of people regarding their social and state issues.
He said that every possible step shall be taken within available resources. He further said that police and public have to form a peaceful society because only peaceful society can guarantee our overall protection. He said that cancer was a lethal disease which pushes millions of people towards darkness of death and by donation of blood, the lives of cancer affected persons may be made easy and Punjab Police along with other institutions will keep on taking steps regarding facilitation of cancer affected patients.
The families of those police officials who died of cancer especially attended these blood donating camps whereas seminars and awareness walks regarding cancer day have also been held under police supervision in different districts of the province in which hundreds of people from all walks of life participated. As per directions of IG Punjab, all RPOs, DPOs and CTOs were also present and expressed their solidarity with the cancer affected patients.
Addl IGP Operations Inam Ghani, DIG Welfare Sharik Kamal Siddiqui, DIG Operations Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, DIG Training Suleman Sultan Rana along with other officers were present at this occasion.
