Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan expressed alarm that there would be massive power outages this year across the country due to the incompetence of this imported rudderless government coupled with its flawed polices and wrong priorities, which was fixated on ‘fixing’ PTI; hence it would be a long and hot summer.
In a statement on Monday, Omar Ayub Khan said that he had been predicting since the last eight months that there would be massive load-shedding this year. “Please recall that during the PTI government there was Zero Loadshedding on 80% of feeders across Pakistan and it was limited to only low collection Feeders,” he added.
Omar Ayub stated that there was surplus power generation available as approximately 5500 MW power was not being consumed by closed industries, adding, “At this time the 5348 MW power shortfall means that this Imported Government is not paying the IPPs money to purchase fuel.”
He went on to say that the current demand was 26,000 MW but the generation was only 20,652 MW.
