Hit for a Cause—Players, anchors come together to support IHHN’s Emergency Services

 

The 4th corporate tape ball cricket championship organized by the Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) concluded successfully with OGDCL winning the trophy while Q-Marketing bagging the second position.

Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, Mr Faisal Zahid Malik was the Chief Guest at the final match that was held for a great cause i.e. free medical treatment and services to the under-served.

A special exhibition match was also played on the occasion featuring the renowned journalists and anchors, including Rehman Azhar, Shehzad Iqbal, Asim Raza and Samar Abbas who showcased their cricketing skills in support of the cause. Mr Faisal Zahid Malik gave away the trophy to the captain of the winning match and appreciated the sporting spirit and passion of the contesting teams.

This exciting annual event saw leading corporates come together to support the IHHN’s Emergency and Out-Patient Department (OPD) services, showcasing their dedication to saving lives through free-of-cost healthcare. According to a representative of the IHHN, Mr Faisal Zahid Malik’s presence underscored the importance of media support in promoting healthcare initiative and helping the IHHN provide life-saving services to underserved communities. Building on the success of the previous tournaments, the IHHN expanded this year’s championship to include more corporate teams from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The central cause of this year’s tournament was to support the IHHN’s Emergency and OPD services, which are vital in ensuring access to urgent and quality healthcare for thousands of Pakistanis. This year’s championship saw top corporate teams playing not only for victory but also to contribute towards expanding the IHHN’s emergency care capacity.

The tape ball tournament was played in a knock-out format, with each match consisting of 6-over innings. The event held at the National Cricket Club (MCI Cricket Ground) Islamabad, was supported by generous sponsors and participants including Meezan Bank, Q-Marketing, OGDCL, OBS Bayer, Evamp&Saanga, Juilee Insurance, Cheezious& Indus Hospital.

The event was attended by the IHHN’s leadership, sponsors, and media representatives with Pakistan Observer and various media houses. According to a handout by the IHHN, the 4th corporate cricket championship not only provided an exciting platform for the corporate teams to come together but also strengthened their commitment to IHHN’s mission of providing free, high-quality healthcare to the people of Pakistan. “With the support of the dedicated partners like Mr Faisal Zahid Malik and other corporate leaders, the IHHN continues to make strides in offering life-saving treatment to those who need it the most,” says the IHHN’s statement.
