Hassan Nourian, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Dean of the Karachi Consular Corps, hosted a luncheon in Karachi to honor Syed Awais Qadir Shah, Speaker of the Sindh Provincial Assembly. The event, held at the Iranian Consulate, was attended by a four-member delegation from the Iranian Parliament’s Cultural Commission, currently on an official visit to Karachi.
The Speaker was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed, Member of the National Assembly Mirza Ikhtiyar Baig, and General Secretary of PPP Waqar Mehdi. The gathering focused on enhancing mutual cooperation and deepening the historical ties between Iran and Pakistan. “Iran and Pakistan share a strong and friendly relationship as neighbors.
It is essential for both countries to maintain and enhance these ties for mutual progress, peace, security, and stability,” said Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah. Discussions also addressed challenges faced by the global Muslim community and the joint responsibility of both nations in promoting unity and sustainable solutions for security and development.
The Speaker expressed his gratitude to Consul General Hassan Nourian for the warm hospitality and gracious invitation.
In return, the Consul General presented a commemorative shield to the Speaker, acknowledging his visit. As part of the diplomatic exchange, Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah extended an invitation to the Consul General and the Iranian delegation to visit the historic Sindh Assembly and attend a legislative session.
The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between the two nations, reaffirming their commitment to regional cooperation, cultural exchange, and shared prosperity.
