ISLAMABAD – Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to see a whooping increase in next month July 2024, which marks the start of the new fiscal year 2024-25.
Reports said the federal government would jack up the petrol price by Rs7.54 per litre and high speed diesel price by Rs9.84 per litre for first 15 days of July.
If the government adds Rs5 per litre petroleum levy from July 1, the petrol prices likely to go up by Rs12.54 and diesel price by Rs14.84 per litre.
It is recalled that the government has decided to increase the maximum petroleum levy to Rs80 from previous Rs60. It would increase the levy in different phases.
Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan
Earlier this month, the government lowered the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs10.20 and Rs2.33 for consumers, respectively.
After the revision, currently, the petrol price stands at Rs258.16 and High-Speed Diesel price at Rs267.89 per litre.
Latest Petrol Price in Pakistan from July 1
If the petroleum levy is not increased by Rs5 per litre, the new petrol price in Pakistan from July 1 would be Rs265.7 and diesel price would be Rs277.73 per litre.
If the petroleum levy in increased, the new petrol price would be Rs270.7 per litre and diesel price Rs282.73 per litre.
