New era of real change begins in Punjab: CM Lays foundation stone of Sheikhupura-Gujranwala dual carriageway project

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday said that a new era of real change has began in Punjab as for the first-time projects are designed according to needs of the people of respective area with due consultation of public representatives.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony Sheikhupura- Gujranwala dual carriageway project at Chief Minister’s House here. Punjab Senor and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal and other authorities concerned were present on the occasion.
Usman Buzdar said that 43-Kilometer long Sheikhupura to Gujranwala dual carriageway road project will cost 5.70 billion. He further maintained that the project will be completed under the public-private partnership. Thousands of vehicles will be benefited from better transportation facility with the completion of this project on daily basis. He said this project will made possible easy and speedy access to motorway M-2 and Sheikhupura from Gujranwala. He said that private partners will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the project for 25 years. The construction of road will interlink two industrial cities besides providing better transportation facilities to the citizens as well as saving time and fuel, he concluded.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of the mother of former President Gen. Retd. Pervaiz Musharaf. In a condolence message, the CM extended heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the family members to bear this loss with equanimity.

He said the PTI government will ensure development of areas of the province and bring about the backward areas on a par with the developed ones. He said that backward areas are being turned into developed ones. New universities and hospitals are being set up in far-flung areas. Every city will be given a separate development package. He said that personal like and dislike affected the development projects in past and resources were wasted by ignoring the public priorities. The incumbent government has focused on the unison development of every area. Everyone is being taken on board for sustainable development and prosperity of the people, he concluded.
