ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir reassured Pakistani to stay positive as he emphasised unity, education, and resilience.
Addressing Youth Convention in Islamabad, Army Chief reassured young Pakistanis that the country’s future is in “safe hands.” He highlighted the critical role of staying positive in overcoming the nation’s challenges, urging the younger generation to continue struggle.
Gen Asim underscored importance of understanding value of an independent state, encouraging the youth to learn from the hardships faced by people in regions such as Libya, Syria, Kashmir, and even Gaza.
Citing current scenario, COAS said the state bears responsibility of protecting its citizens from the negative impacts of social media, which can distort reality and sow discord. Addressing concerns over Pakistan’s economic situation, COAS pointed out that those who had predicted the country’s default are now hushed.
Gen Asim said despair is never an option for a Muslim as he called youth Pakistan’s most valuable asset, pledging to shield them from any harm. He also emphasised the necessity of a strong ties between the people, government, and armed forces, stating that such unity is vital for the nation’s security and progress.
He also addressed recent unrest in Parachinar, reassuring that the army is committed to assisting the tribes in resolving their disputes through dialogue and reconciliation, and praised people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their unwavering support in the fight against terrorism.
