LAHORE  – The national cricket team’s management once again wanted to change Mohammad Rizwan’s batting order, the sources close the development said on Tuesday.

The sources said that the majority of the team management members are in favor of changing Rizwan’s batting position, but captain Babar Azam disagreed because he wanted Rizwan to start innings in case of failure in Fakhar Zaman’s performance.

The sources also revealed that Rizwan is worried about the change in his batting position because he wanted to capitalize on his good performance in that position.

Fakhar Zaman has not yet been included in the ongoing series against New Zealand. During this time, Usman has scored 12 runs in two innings, and the team management wants to play Usman Khan or Fakhar Zaman at number 3 instead of Mohammad Rizwan.

Furthermore, Rizwan may miss the remaining matches of the T20I series against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury.

Rizwan suffered an injury during the third T20 against New Zealand in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

The team management can decide on Rizwan’s availability after seeing his scans today.

It may be mentioned here that thanks to Mark Chapman’s brilliant performance, New Zealand made a stunning comeback in the five-match T20I series, leveling it 1-1. Two matches are left in Lahore, scheduled for April 25 and 27 at Gaddafi Stadium.

After the conclusion of the series against New Zealand, the Pakistani team will play three T20Is against Ireland next month and four T20Is against England away from home.
