The leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Monday accused National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser of violating the Constitution by not calling a session of the House on time for voting on the no-confidence motion.
Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court, former Senate chairman Farooq Hamid Naek said that the NA speaker delayed the session of the House on the pretext of renovation of the Parliament building.
He said that the speaker had violated the Constitution and an action should be taken against him under Article 6. He stated that only the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) could disqualify a parliamentarian and added: “The constitutional process is being sabotaged.”
