LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supported candidate Salman Akram Raja on Friday challenged the results for constituency NA-128 before the Lahore High Court.
Salman Akram Raja appeared in the Lahore High Court to file the petition, where the Registrar’s office scheduled Salman Akram Raja’s application for hearing.
Justice Ali Baqar Najafi will hear Salman Akram Raja’s petition after some time.
In the application, Salman Akram Raja asserted that despite a significant majority, the results have been halted, requesting the court to order the Returning Officer to immediately release the results.
According to unofficial and non-governmental results, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)Awn Chaudhry, the leader who was backed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), secured victory from Lahore’s constituency NA-128 with 172,576 votes, while Salman Akram Raja is in second place with 159,024 votes.
