Chairman of the Businessmen Group (BMG) of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Zubair Motiwala, reiterated his commitment to addressing the issues faced by the business community, especially small traders. He vowed to continue advocating for their concerns regarding law and order, electricity, and other civic matters, while also working to halt unjust raids by customs authorities.

Motiwala highlighted ongoing efforts to secure space for displaced shopkeepers affected by anti-encroachment drives in areas like Empress Market, Jubilee Market, Mairaj Market, and Aladdin Park. He expressed optimism that these shopkeepers would soon receive allotment letters after the general elections, following discussions with Mayor Karachi.

The meeting, attended by Vice Chairman Jawed Bilwani, President Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, and other KCCI officials, focused on addressing the challenges faced by small traders. Motiwala emphasized that the KCCI prioritizes the concerns of all traders, regardless of size, and actively engages with relevant authorities to seek solutions. Regarding the deteriorating law and order situation, Motiwala assured that the KCCI is actively engaging with law enforcement agencies to improve the situation. He urged traders to report any issues promptly to the KCCI for swift action.

Motiwala also addressed concerns over customs raids and electricity issues, stating that the KCCI is actively working to resolve these issues through engagement with relevant authorities. He concluded by expressing gratitude for the support of the business community, particularly small traders, emphasizing the BMG’s longstanding dedication to serving the community honestly.
