ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night and Monday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave prevails over most parts of Pakistan. Moisture from the Arabian Sea is also penetrating southern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Sindh on Sunday evening/night and Monday. Heavy falls and hailstorms are also likely at isolated places in upper Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Balochistan. Snowfall is also expected in the mountains in northern areas.
Heavy/torrential rains may generate flash floods in local nullas of Dera Ghazi Khan, Koh-e-Suleman, Khuzdar, Ziarat, Zhob, Sherani, Muslim Bagh, Quetta, Pishin, Kech, Panjgur, Gwadar and Turbat till 15 April. Flooding may also occur in low-lying areas during the forecast period.
Heavy rainfall may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Manshera and tributaries of the Kabul River till 15 April. Landslides are likely in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 18-20 degrees Celsius on Monday and 20-22 C on Tuesday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 19-21 C on Monday and 20-22 C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, cloudy weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Punjab, Kashmir and upper Sindh.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 22 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 77 per cent.
