Mobile phones in Lahore remained silence in several areas of the city on the occasion of Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhash. The service was restored late in the evening.
Meanwhile, the provincial Home Department has taken steps on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain on Thursday (today). Pillion riding has been banned in Punjab for a day on Thursday. Moreover, mobile phone service will remain suspended from 10 am to 10 pm. The Home Department, in a statement, regretted inconvenience to the people and said the step was taken for peace in the province.
