Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Friday sounded the alarm regarding Coronavirus fresh wave, saying that the situation could get out of control if corona cases continue to increase.
Speaking at a private TV program, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that humans’ immunity goes low in winter so there is a high chance of corona growth and if corona cases continue to grow, the situation may get out of control.
The minister said that the increase in Corona cases in the country is a matter of concern and therefore people must strictly follow SOPs to avert surge in the Corona cases. “Because of Corona spread, complete lockdown harms the economy and the working class is affected so no country, especially the poor countries like cannot tolerate complete lockdown.”
The minister said, “We are making all out efforts to control Corona and Dengue in Punjab. If people did not follow SOPs there is risk of increase in cases. I appeal people to follow SOPs. Rawalpindi Medical University is implementing different research programs. Under supervision of Professor Dr. Omar, monitoring of development projects is underway”.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government appointed Dr Yasmin Rashid as price control incharge. In a bid to control the rising inflation, the Punjab government has appointed provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid as price control incharge in Lahore.
According to media details, a special monitoring room with 125 cameras installed at 31 sahulat bazars to monitor and provide immediate action on inflation complaints has also been set up at DC Office Lahore.
Meanwhile, Dr. Yasmin Rashid sanctioned a number of new positions at DHQ Hospitals and different hospitals in Rawalpindi during 8th Syndicate Meeting of the Rawalpindi Medical University on Friday.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Omar, Registrar and Syndicate members attended the meeting. Registrar Rawalpindi Medical University Dr. Omar presented the agenda items of the meeting. Vice Chancellor Rawalpindi Medical University Dr. Omar presented the performance reports of Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and its attached Teaching institutions. The meeting approved payments for pending liabilities including utility bills of Benazir Bhutto Hospitals, Holy Family Hospital, DHQ Rawalpindi and Medical University. The Minister granted approval for opening of new accounts for Benazir Hospital, DHQ Rawalpindi and Rawalpindi Medical University. The syndicate meeting approved payments for the medial equipment procured for DHQ and Holy Family Hospital. The meeting approved Rate Contract for year 2020-21 for cleanliness services at DHQ Rawalpindi. The Syndicate meeting granted approval for new positions at DHQ and other hospitals besides upgradation of positions of sub engineers.
