Minister for Religious Affairs and InterfaithHarmony, Aneeq Ahmed, on Wednesday stressed the necessity ofunderstanding the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) tocomprehend the Holy Quran.
PAKIMinister Aneeq hailed the establishment of the Seerat Chair at the UrduUniversity as a commendable initiative for guiding the new generation.He emphasized that familiarity with the life of Prophet Muhammad (PeaceBe Upon Him) was essential for leadership. The greatness of ProphetMuhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) would continue to be articulated until theDay of Judgment, he added.
Touching on the obligation of those propagating religion, Minister Aneeqstressed the significance of aligning conversations with the covenantadding that the Holy Quran and SeeratTayyiba would continue to leadhumanity’s mindset until the end of time. “Today, we must reflect on whether we are being disloyal to our Prophet(Peace Be Upon Him). Our religion is complete, containing solutions toall issues. Knowledge and action are both necessary, he said adding thatstudents must be made aware of challenges such as secularism, artificialintelligence, and contemporary issues.
Minister Aneeq said it was our responsibility to include a Seerat bookin the curriculum from primary’s to master’s level.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Dr. RubinaMushtaq, Dr. Mustafafeez AhmadAlvi, Dr. Ahtesham-ul-Haq, and Dr. Hafiz Abdul Rashid also expressedtheir views during the event.
Dr. Mustafeez Ahmad Alvi, Head of Department of Islamic Thought andCulture at NUML, highlighted that the descent of the Holy Quran and theprophethood of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) transformed thecourse of the world. He mentioned that the purpose of establishing theSeerat Chair was to apply SeeratTayyiba in practical life. “Acceptingreligion and adopting Seerat are one and the same,” he added.
