Micro watershed management project inaugurated

Micro water shed project was inaugurated in Dolomos area of Chitral. On this occasion, Director General of Soil and Water Conservation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Yasin Khan Wazir was chief guest while Chitral University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah,Director Admin Dr Nadeem, District Officer Aminul Haq etc. were also present on this occasion. Under this project 119 Acres of rainfed land (barren land) will be converted into cultivable land, which was previously barren.

A brief ceremony was also held at Dolomos on the occasion. Briefing the participants, Director General Muhammad Yasin Khan Wazir said that we have two very valuable natural resources, water and soil, through these two resources, not only humans but also other living things get their food.

He said that Pakistan is an agriculture country, but it is not self-sufficient in its grain production and that is the reason why wheat etc. is importing from abroad. He said that to solve this problem, the previous government, initiated the Prime Minister agriculture emergency program.
