A dinner held in honor of Rear Admiral (Retired) Syed Moazzam Ilyas, Chairman of Port Qasim Authority, celebrated the extraordinary contributions of Abdul Rahim Janoo in business and social welfare. The event took place at the residence of Abdul Rahim Janoo, Chairman of the Haji Razzak Janoo Memorial Trust, a leader of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), and President of the Memon Leadership Forum (MLF). Former President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, who attended the event, commended Abdul Rahim Janoo for his impactful work in social and business sectors, particularly highlighting his dedication to humanitarian causes.
Dr. Alvi praised the Free Eye Camps organized for underprivileged individuals across Pakistan, describing them as a testament to Janoo’s selfless service. Rear Admiral (Retired) Syed Moazzam Ilyas addressed the gathering, acknowledging the life-changing work carried out by Abdul Rahim Janoo, especially in providing free eye care to patients in need.
“These efforts deserve recognition and encouragement at the government level,” he said. Former Prime Minister and ex-Chairman of the Senate, Muhammad Mian Soomro, also spoke at the event, offering a heartfelt tribute to Abdul Rahim Janoo and his family for their continued efforts in organizing Baba Farid Free Eye Camps in cities such as Jacobabad and Pakpattan. He called these initiatives a source of national pride. Rafiq Suleman, Former Chairman of REAP, provided the audience with insights into Abdul Rahim Janoo’s extensive contributions to business and social welfare, emphasizing his leadership in both fields.
The event was attended by prominent business figures, including Basheer Jan Muhammad, Javed Jilani, Akhtar Yunus Irfa, Asif Ismail, Iqbal Advani, Nadeem Polani, Zeeshan Lohia, Maqsood Motiwala, Muhammad Ali Daryawala, and others.
