LDA demolishes/seals 14 illegal buildings in Lahore

LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday continued operations against violation of bylaws and illegal commercial use in Lahore.
LDA teams demolished four illegal buildings during an operation in Shadman, Muslim Town, Timber Market and Jail Road. The LDA team also sealed 10 buildings in these localities for not paying commercialization fees. The demolished/sealed buildings include offices, clinics, medical stores, private schools and showrooms.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to these buildings’ owners before demolition operation.
Director Town Planning-I Ayesha Mutahir supervised the operation which was carried out with the help of enforcement teams, Police and heavy machinery. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of bylaws, encroachments and illegal commercial use in Lahore.
