ISLAMABAD –   Today is the last day for submitting applications under the government Hajj scheme, with over 54,000 applications received across the country so far.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs allocated a quota of 89,605 pilgrims for this year’s Hajj. Overseas Pakistanis can also secure their participation through sponsorships.

A spokesperson for the ministry stated that the regular quota is expected to be fully booked by the end of the day. This year, the introduction of installment-based payments for expenses under the regular scheme has significantly increased the number of applications compared to previous years.

Following the completion of the application process, the Hajj flight schedule would be finalized. The arrangements for accommodations in Madinah, transportation and other logistical requirements in Saudi Arabia including food and Maktab services would also be completed.

The balloting to select pilgrims under the government Hajj scheme is scheduled to take place on December 6.
