LAHORE – Monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday (Muharram 9, 10).
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea will likely penetrate Pakistan on July 16. A trough of westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country. It will likely affect western and southern parts from tonight.
Under these weather conditions, monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Tuesday and 37-39°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours.
Attock remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Maximum temperature in Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Sargodha was recorded at 40°C.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 46 per cent.
