A disturbing development has been reported from Lahore where famous writer and poet Khalilur Rehman Qamar was kidnapped and assaulted.
The victim’s family revealed that a woman named Amna approached Khalilur Rehman Qamar and invited him to her house to discuss a project. As the writer arrived at the given address, armed men abducted and robbed him. Qamar reportedly paid big sum of amount to the culprits, who then released him.

Lahore police registered a case under sections related to kidnapping and assault. The FIR said suspects tortured Qamar and moved him to various locations.
The victim alleged that kidnappers threatened to kill him and demanded money from his relatives. FIR also mentions that suspects deprived scriptwriter from his mobile, watch, and cash, and withdrew 2.5lac using his ATM card. Khalil revealed that he was blindfolded and was abandoned in a deserted area before fleeing.

Khalil is among big names when it comes to script writing as the director, who is also poet, and a lyricist par excellence amassed huge fan following. Some of his famous projects are “Pyarey Afzal,” “Sadqay Tumhare,” and “Meray Paas Tum Ho,” as well as the film “Kaaf Kangana.”
His scriot for Dastak Aur Darwaza in 90s rose him to fame as he further added big projects like Landa Bazar,” “Love, Life Aur Lahore,” and several popular dramas.
Qamar got also entangled in controversies including his dispute with Mahira Khan, while his infamous comments about Aurat March also triggered controversy. He also made offensive remarks about Marvi Sirmed in a talk show.
