MUMBAI  –  In the court of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut’s victory in the 2024 general elections has been challenged.

The court has issued notices in response to a petition filed by independent candidate Layak Ram Negi against Kangana Ranaut.

The 38-year-old Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut contested in the Indian elections for the first time last month and achieved success.

The petitioner argued that despite meeting the required criteria, their nomination papers were rejected.

They claimed that if they had not been disqualified from the election, they would have won.

Layak Ram Negi stated that he was given one day to provide a ‘due certificate’ from the electricity, water and telephone departments.

Even after submitting these documents, the returning officer did not accept them which resulted in the rejection of his nomination papers.
