Islamia University of Bahawalpur becomes most popular University in country

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has become the most popular university in the country in terms of admissions. According to figures released by the Directorate of Academics, 1,44,583 candidates from across the country applied for 234 M.Phil and BS programs for the fall 2021. Such a large number of applications from students and parents are a reflection of the teaching and research quality of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

According to statistics, the university received 13,711 applications in the fall of 2018. 13,465 applications were received in spring 2019 and 60,650 applications in fall 2019. Similarly, 20,217 applications were received in spring 2020, 47,278 in fall 2020 and 1,44,583 in fall 2021.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar in an interview to a private channel had appreciated the efforts of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob on the record admissions in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur who left millions of youth in despair in the most difficult period of the epidemic.

When the current Vice-Chancellor took over the responsibilities of the university, the number of students was about 13,500, which will increase to about 56,000 in a short span of two years.

The Vice Chancellor launched state-of-the-art educational programs at the university to suit the needs of the market including Nursing, Laboratory Technology, Physiotherapy, Public Health, Social Engineering, 6 new IT programs, 9 latest Management Science programs.
