ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and cloudy weather for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday night and the next days.
Rainfall of varying intensities are likely in the twin cities on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is present over the eastern part of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, cold and cloudy weather is expected in most upper parts of the country on Monday night and Tuesday.
However, light rain/drizzle is likely in northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the period.
Smog/fog is likely in few plain areas of Punjab during morning hours.
Partly cloudy weather and scattered rains are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of the country on Wednesday and Thursday.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 08-10 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 07-09 C on Wednesday.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 11-13 C on Tuesday and 10-12 C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy weather prevailed over most parts of the country and cold in upper parts during the last 24 hours.
However, light rain-wind/thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Kashmir and southeast Sindh.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 03 C below the freezing point.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 09 C.
Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 54 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 12 C.
Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 47 per cent.
