Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pakistan weather update; isolated rains, gusty winds likely

ISLAMABAD – Isolated rains and gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night and Friday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate upper and central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, intermittent rains and gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Southeast Sindh, Northeast/South Punjab and Northeast Balochistan on Thursday night and Friday.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Friday and Saturday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in South East Balochistan, Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northeast/South Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Punjab: Bahawalnagar 06, Rawalpindi (Shamsabad), Toba Tek Singh, Jhelum and Okara 01

Dalbandin remained the hottest place in Pakistan where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. The maximum temperature in Nokkundi, Turbat, Dadu, Sibbi and Bahawalnagar was recorded at 40°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 60 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 58 per cent.
