ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted partly cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall over mountains for upper parts of Pakistan on Wednesday night and Thursday.
According to the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly prevails over Kashmir and adjoining areas.
Under these conditions, light rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over hills is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas on Wednesday evening/night. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
On Thursday, light rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over hills is expected at isolated places in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts and freezing in upper parts of the country.
Islamabad’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 02-04 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 03-05 C on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country and freezing in upper parts during the last 24 hours. Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over hills occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and northeast Punjab.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 13 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 32 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 31 per cent.
