ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate upper/central parts of Pakistan. A fresh westerly trough will likely affect most upper/central parts of the country from tonight.
Under these weather conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Upper/Central Punjab, Kashmir, Northeast Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night and the next two days with occasional gaps. Heavy falls are also likely at isolated places during the period. Rain-wind/thundershowers are also expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and South Punjab.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 32-34°C on Saturday and 33-35°C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Saturday and 34-36°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in the twin cities, upper/central Punjab, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Nokkundi and Dalbandin remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu and Chilas was recorded at 44°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 96 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 per cent.
