ISLAMABAD – Police in parts of the country started action against those having no licenses, and concurrently started rolling out innovations in driving licenses.
In the country’s capital Islamabad, IGP Dr Akbar Nasir Khan introduced a new initiative to streamline driving license processes as the capital administration eyes digitising the issuance of driving licenses.
The issuance of Virtual Driving License allows residents to get their licenses online by just entering their personal details. The requisites include CNIC, driving license number, and expiration date.
Islamabad police said that the online driving license will further empower people to download and renew their driving licenses from the comfort of their homes.
With the latest move, police simplified the cumbersome process of obtaining and renewing driving licenses, which even forced many people to drive the vehicles without a license.
The new move stemmed from digitalization in all state departments. People can now even renew their learner permits through the online system.
