Punjab Minister for HR&MA Ijaz Alam Augustine in a statement regarding Kashmir Day, said that Kashmiris were facing curfew since August 5, which was a violation of the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.
In fact India has always acted as a land grabbing mafia, rather than a democracy. He said that the current prime minister, Narendra Modi, went to the extreme, it was disgraceful that the world’s largest democracy would not allow the Kashmiris, whom it calls its own citizens, to vote on their own destiny.
The minister said that February 5reminded us to show full solidarity with Kashmiris and reminded the international community of its obligation to use its influence over India to resolve this decade’s long conflict. He further said that the day was near when the people of the region will achieve freedom despite the oppression of India.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has raised the Kashmir issue vigorously at international forums; silence of the international community over the killings of innocent Kashmiris was tantamount to the murder of justice.
