Imam held for rape attempt on two minors

A prayer leader was arrested after a video of him attempting to sexually abuse two minor girls inside a mosque went viral on social media.

According to a local TV channel, the girls are five and seven years old. Police said that the incident took place in Chak 59/GB of District Faisalabad.

Locals identified the man in the video and the imam was arrested and an FIR was registered against him under Sections 376, 511 and 295 of Pakistan Penal Code.

Police informed that the case was registered on behalf of the State as the parents were not ready to take legal action against the imam.

According to a Faisalabad City Police Office (CPO) statement, the police will plead the case in a professional manner to do the justice.
