IGP honors cops who held rapist in motorway rape case

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Inam Ghani on Tuesday gave cash rewards amounting to Rs2.5 million and appreciation certificates to police officers and officials who arrested main accused of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway rape case.
A ceremony was held at Central Police Office in the honour of policemen who arrested the main accused in the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway rape case a couple of months ago. On this occasion, Punjab Police Inspector General Inam Ghani distributed cash prizes of Rs2.5 million and certificates of appreciation to 40 officers and personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said it was a good tradition to motivate the law-enforcers who show courage, bravery and sense of duty while discharging duty. To protect lives and properties of people with sincerity and eliminate criminals is the aim of the Punjab Police, he said. The police chief said it was as important to encourage those who deliver as to punish those who show dishonesty and negligence in their duties. He said this reward and punishment system would continue at all levels in the Police Department. He said the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway rape case was a difficult and challenging case, but the Punjab Police succeeded in resolving it.
The policemen who received cash prizes and appreciation certificates are: Inspector Syed Hussain Haider, Inspector Javed Hussain, Inspector Ali Ahmed, Inspector Tariq Khan, Sub Inspector Hussain Farooq, Sub Inspector Amanat Ali, Sub Inspector Muneer Ahmad, ASI Bisharat Naeem, ASI Rizwan Ahmed, ASI Naseer Ahmed, ASI Babar Ali, ASI Khalil Ahmed, Head Constable Samiullah, Head Constable Khadim Hussain, Head Constable Nisar Ahmed, Head Constable Muhammad Rizwan, CPL Irfan Younis, CPL Owais Akram and others.
CPL Qudratullah, CPL Shehzada Kaleemullah, Constable Shahid Ali Chughtai, Constable Allah Ditta, Constable Muhammad Shahbaz Ali, Constable Munawar Ali, Constable Muhammad Umair, Constable Qaiser Abbas, Constable Shabbir Ali, Constable Irfan Ali, Constable Sajid Hussain, Constable Asif Munir, Constable Nabil Gul, Constable Tariq Ali, Constable Sharafat Ali, Constable Shabir Ahmed, Constable Muhammad Bashir, Constable Kamran Anwar, Constable Mazhar Hussain, Tahir Hussain, Asif Javed and Muhammad Shafiq.
