Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul on Wednesday said the government is taking every possible step to reduce effects of climate change on the agriculture sector. Talking to media persons in Multan, she said we are taking proper consultancy of experts and researchers to minimize effects of climate change.
She said brick preparing units of six zones and steel factories of Wagah have been closed for two months in order to reduce smog threat. The minister said bricks factories are being shifted to zigzag technology and owners of these units will be given proper training and loans.
She said a campaign has been launched to create awareness among people regarding the effects of polythene bags. The Minister said farmers are being given direct access to markets with reducing the role of middle man, which will also help in reducing prices of commodities.
