Govt committed to ensure provision of urea fertilizer to farmers

In order to ensure provision of urea fertilizer to farmers, all possible measures are being taken according to the directions of Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal and present government of the Punjab led by Chief Minister Punjab Hamaza Shahbaz is well aware of problems of growers.

These views were expressed by the Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Allah Ditta Warraich while addressing the meeting of agriculture officers and fertilizer dealers held at District Complex Hafizabad.

DC said that with consultation of fertilizers companies and dealers, all dealers had been attached with district administration for provision of urea fertilizer to farmers according to their demand. He directed the fertilizer dealers to bring urea fertilizers according to their quota immediately and to sell at the rate of Rs.1950 per bag according to fixed price by the government.

He warned that black marketing and overcharging would not be tolerated at all and fertilizer must be sell on merit to farmers of the district. He also directed the dealers to past flexes and board inscribed with availability of fertilizer on fixed prices.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Hafizabad Rab Nawaz has seized 400 bags urea fertilizers stocked in two shops illegally at Veneki Tarar and Kaleki Mandi and sealed the shops. He said that recovered fertilizer would be sell to farmers on fixed prices under the supervision of agriculture department.
