Fog and harsh weather conditions yet again disrupted air travel on Sunday, cancelling and delaying flights at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The fog around Lahore Airport disrupted the flight schedule as 13 flights cancelled and seven were delayed. Flight PA-410 to Dubai from Lahore Airport, flight PA-411 from Dubai to Lahore Airport cancelled, flight IF-341 of Baghdad Airline from Najaf to Lahore Airport have also been cancelled. IF-342 to Najaf from Lahore Airport, and flight OD-131from Kuala Lumpur and from Lahore Airport to Kuala Lumpur flight OD-132 have also been cancelled Flight PA-431 from Abu Dhabi to Lahore Airport also cancelled. Flight PK-307 and PK-306 to Karachi also cancelled. Flight of Serene Air ER-52- delayed by five hours while Etihad Airline flight EY-244 to Lahore from Abu Dhabi delayed by two hours. Pakistan Met Department forecasted cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in north Balochistan and upper parts on Sunday (today). The Met department said the fog is likely in northeast Punjab. Light rain (with snowfall over hills) is also expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during evening/night on Sunday (today). The Met Department predicted cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in north Balochistan and upper parts. While frost is likely to occur in the Potohar region including few plain areas of Punjab during morning hours on Monday. Sunday’s Lowest Minimum Temperature (°C): Leh -15°C, Gupis -12°C, Skardu, Astore -11°C, Kalam -09°C, Gilgit, Bagrote, Hunza -07°C, Rawalakot, Srinagar -06°C, Dir and Parachinar -05°C.
